5 Million Safe Hours (Oct. 2009)
Tweet/Garot Mechanical of Green Bay, Wisconsin has attained a historic safety milestone, working 5 Million Safe Hours without a lost-time incident. This achievement occurred in October and spans an almost 7-1/2 year period beginning in June of 2002.
Tweet/Garot introduced its Zero Injury program in January, 2004, which raised the expectations of all employees to promote safety awareness proactively. Tweet/Garot CEO/President, Tim Howald, and Safety Director, Gabe Gutenberger, attribute Tweet/Garot’s safety success to the efforts involved in their Zero Injury program, and the “relentless safety dedication” of their employees.
Tweet/Garot has received commendations by the AGC (Associated General Contractors) of Wisconsin for fourteen straight years, the Wisconsin Safety Council Award for fourteen years, as well as continued recognition by MCAA (Mechanical Contractors Association of America), and SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association). These awards were based on, among other criteria, an OSHA incident rate significantly lower than their industry average.
Tweet/Garot Mechanical is one of the innovative, pro-active contractors who have signed a voluntary partnership with the Wisconsin Paper Council (WPC) and OSHA (The Occupational Safety & Health Administration). This partnership includes the “10-Plus Program” which consists of 16 hours of awareness training and covers 20 safety topics for Tweet/Garot employees working for paper mill facility customers.
Tweet/Garot Mechanical is one of Northeast Wisconsin's largest mechanical contractors, employing approximately 350 people, with offices in Green Bay, Wisconsin Rapids and Waukesha, Wisconsin and Menominee, Michigan.
Tweet/Garot provides services in the areas of plumbing, heating, process piping, sheet metal fabrication and ventilation, boiler services, food processing equipment, service and engineering.
